This Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation in International Development equips participants with practical skills and knowledge to design, implement, and manage robust M&E systems for development and humanitarian programs. The program strongly emphasizes African development contexts while incorporating global best practices. It combines theoretical foundations with hands-on tools to help track progress, measure impact, support adaptive management, and meet donor compliance requirements.
Course Objectives
- Explain core concepts, principles, and importance of M&E in international development
- Develop Theories of Change, Logical Frameworks, and comprehensive M&E plans
- Design relevant indicators, targets, and data collection systems suitable for African contexts
- Collect, manage, analyze, and visualize both quantitative and qualitative data
- Conduct different types of evaluations including baseline, mid-term, end-line, and impact evaluations
- Apply participatory and inclusive M&E approaches involving communities and stakeholders
- Use M&E findings for adaptive management, learning, and decision-making
- Integrate digital tools relevant to African field realities and meet donor reporting standards

Assignments
There are four assignments (continuous assessment tests), research paper and one examination to be offered at the end of the course. Assignments account for 40%, research paper counts for 30%, while the Final Exam accounts for 30% of the total mark. Upon completion of the course, you shall be issued with a Diploma Certificate and a course transcript. Examination Certificate and Transcripts will be sent after successful completion of the course.
